Candidate for U.S. Congress in New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District, Peterson has been a strong advocate of parental rights in their children's education and an unwavering voice against gender identity and sex orientation education to young children. Peterson also led a movement and fight against forcing young school children to be required to wear masks and receive the COVID vaccine.
MAY 12, 2022, Clinton, NJ – Assemblyman Erik Peterson is the only member of the NJ State Legislature that has refused to sign onto a Ceremonial Resolution prepared by the NJ State Legislature in March honoring Dr. Lawrence Feinsod, executive director of the New Jersey School Boards Association (NJSBA), who is retiring. Peterson is asking his Legislature colleagues to remove their names from the Ceremonial Resolution.
The NJSBA is supportive of teaching young children as young as in kindergarten about gender identification and sex orientation, and failed to condone the National School Boards Association when it labeled parents as domestic terrorists.
Last September the NSBA penned a letter, and subsequent apology for, equating parents speaking out against school district policies to domestic terrorism. Reports have indicated that the letter was drafted in consultation with the Biden Administration and submitted to Attorney General Merrik Garland, in an orchestrated move to justify the Department of Justice’s formation of a task force to investigate parents as being potential terrorists.
“Following the release of the letter I called for the immediate resignation of the NSBA’s leadership and called on the NJSBA to condemn the letter and withhold funding for the NSBA,” said Asm. Erik Peterson (R-Hunterdon). “To my knowledge, the NJSBA has not condemned the NSBA for calling parents domestic terrorists and they have not defended my constituents’ parental rights to make decisions for their children.”
“This Ceremonial Resolution is an insult to every parent in the State of New Jersey. We have a right to go to our school board meetings and oppose Governor Murphy’s tyrannical COVID mandates, the teaching of Critical Race Theory, and the Democrat’s radical sexual and gender identity indoctrination agenda,” said Peterson. “I am calling on my fellow members of the State Legislature to defend their constituents’ parental rights and remove their name from this Ceremonial Resolution.”
“The goal of the NSBA’s letter was to intimidate parents and prevent them from exercising their God-given right and their civil rights to speak about decisions affecting their children,” added Peterson. “The board’s leadership has proven that they are not interested in advancing our children’s education but want to indoctrinate our kids and they will go to any lengths to usurp parents’ rights to determine what is in their child’s best interest.”
The State of New Jersey recently released policies developed over the past two years to teach young children in kindergarten through third grade about gender identity and sex orientation. Dr. Feinsod supported this ideology and indoctrination teaching to young children. Peterson has introduced Legislation to prohibit gender identify, sexual orientation, and general sex education to all children between kindergarten and fifth grade, and to provide parents with significant parental rights in their children’s education.
This is just another example of how Democrats praise people who support their radical agenda including naming the Department of Health building after Judy Persichelli who was involved in the decision to put COVID infected people in nursing and veteran homes resulting in 8,000 of our neighbors unnecessarily dying alone.
The Sept. 29 letter from the board to President Joe Biden states that certain “actions [at public school board meetings] could be the equivalent to a form of domestic terrorism and hate crimes.” They also demanded the administration “examine appropriate enforceable actions against these crimes and acts of violence” under current laws. One of the examples of such so-called heinous actions alleges “anti-mask proponents inciting chaos” during board meetings in New Jersey.
